The information meetings with respect to the preparation programme for First Reconciliation and First Communion in 2020 will take place in three locations.
It is only necessary to attend one of these meetings. The same information will be presented at each. If the date for your area does not suit, feel free to attend another one that does.
The purpose of the meeting is
- to outline for you the significance of the year ahead for your child and your family.
- to explain to you the supports we have on offer for you in this time of preparation.
- to provide copies of the resource books we recommend for the preparation.
Attendance is not compulsory, we are inviting you through this meeting, into a journey of preparation for your child’s First Communion and engagement within this faith community beyond that.
- Tuesday, 8th October: Kilcoole Primary School, St. Anthony’s Building
- Thursday, 10th October: Newtown Primary School, Senior School
- Tuesday, 15th October: Kilian House Family Centre, Greystones
Each of the meetings start at 7pm and will last for one hour.
We seek a small donation from each family to cover the costs of the preparation programme. We will collect it on the night at the meeting.
Dates of Specific Masses for Preparation
Our preparation programme this year is based around the weekend Mass. We encourage families to take part in our weekend Masses as often as possible. We provide different experiences of Mass in different locations and suggest the 10:30am in St. Anthony’s, Kilcoole, the 11:30 am and 6:30 pm in The Holy Rosary, Greystones are particularly appropriate for families with younger children. We have a Children’s Liturgy of the Word at both the 10:30 and 11:30 am Masses on each Sunday.
On the 3rd Sunday of each month from October to March, within the 10:30 am, 11:30 am and 6:30 pm Masses, we will focus specifically on preparation for First Communion. Children’s Liturgy of the Word will not take place on those Sundays.
Resources appropriate to preparing and participating in the Mass on these weekends will be made available from the weekend before the Mass so as to enable you to prepare for that Mass. Click on the date of the Mass in the table below in order to access the resource page.
