Registration for Preparation for the Sacrament of First Eucharist in the Pastoral area of Greystones & Kilquade Parishes Registration for Preparation for the Sacrament of First Communion in 2019 Step 1 of 7 - Parental Consent 14% Parent DecisionsYou are using this form to register that you have a child eligible for the Sacrament of First Communion in 2019. This is a major step in the faith life of your family. We ask you to acknowledge that you understand what you are undertaking and we invite you to take part in the preparation programme for parents that the parish puts in place.I would like my child to receive the Sacrament of First Communion in 2019.*I have discussed within my family that we are ready to present this child for their First Communion. In discussing this within my family*We have considered and understand the implications of this from a religious perspective.Preparation ProgrammeWe provide a preparation programme for parents. We encourage parents to take part in it even if they have had a child for this sacrament previously. We endeavour to keep the number of meetings to a minimum and to provide as much information and support within each meeting as possible. In October there will be an information meeting for all parents and guardians to help clarify the key role they play in preparing their child for these sacraments and to explain how the community as a whole is engaged within the process. Over a number of evenings in the year we meet with parents and guardians to engage with them in exploring and articulating their own faith. We see this as a means of building adults own confidence in their faith so as to enable them to become more fully involved in their child’s faith formation both in the year of sacramental preparation and beyond that. We ask you to indicate if you will take part or not. We believe that taking part will enrich your understanding of this sacrament and will enhance the preparation in your family for it. It is not compulsory to take part in this preparation programme.Preparation*I will take part in the preparation programmeI cannot take part in the preparation programmeWe would appreciate it if you could give a brief reason as to why you cannot take part in the preparation programme.
